THE CLINIC

The New Milton Chiropractic Clinic has been established since 1982 and Jonathan has worked there since graduating
in 1991, taking ownership in 1996. We are a family orientated clinic and the care given encompasses all family members whether it is for a mum to be, post birth and baby care, children, young adults, mature members and the frail elderly. This is expressed in our motto “Treating the whole body - Caring for the whole family".

After rigorous examination the clinic has been recognised by the College of Chiropractors in December 2008 with the award of the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM). The PPQM award was launched in 2006 by the College of Chiropractors to recognise excellence in meeting the expectations patients have about their chiropractic care.

Jonathan Melhuish says
“Chiropractors provide safe and effective treatment, and we are proud to say that the award of the Patient Partnership Quality Mark recognises this clinic’s commitment to meeting and exceeding patients’ expectations of their treatment environment and care. We constantly strive to improve our level of service and always welcome feedback from patients.”

We have a excellent reputation around the New Forest, Christchurch and Bournemouth areas and a strong patient following. Most of our new customers come by direct recommendation from their friends or relatives. You do not need to be referred by your doctor to make an appointment.

OUR GOALS

To provide the highest quality service and standards of care for the patients attending this clinic.

To help you to achieve and maintain optimal health, returning your body to normal function, thereby reducing pain and discomfort. We aim to do this in a caring, friendly environment with a programme of treatment tailored for each individual. To actively encourage you to adopt a healthy lifestyle and understand the importance of maintaining your structural health with chiropractic care.

WHO ARE THE STAFF?

Jonathan Melhuish, Doctor of Chiropractic. DC BSc. MCC (Orth) Certified Extremity Practitioner.

Graduated from The AECC in Bournemouth 1991 and has worked at the New Milton Chiropractic Clinic for the past 17 years where he has mainly used the highly respected Gonstead technique. He has completed post graduate studies in Spinal Rehabilitation and is a Certified Extremities Practitioner (Sports Treatment qualification).

Paediatrics Training encompassing the pregnant mother, birth trauma and ongoing care of infant and child is also his interest.

A recent trip to Australia enabled him to master a chiropractic technique called Advanced BioStructural Correction (ABC), which systematically treats the whole body and positive postural changes may be achieved and many long standing problems may be helped with this technique.

He also uses soft tissue techniques such as massage and stretching and dry needling using acupuncture needles to complement his chiropractic treatment.

Kermin Lawyer, Doctor of Chiropractic. DC. MSc. BSc.

Trained at the AECC in Bournemouth, graduating in 2003 and has since been practicing in the local area dividing her time between New Milton and Poole. Her chiropractic skills encompass a number of options - Diversified, activator, blocking, and drop techniques, soft tissue treatments; trigger point therapy massage, neuromuscular re-education, stretches and rehabilitation exercises.

Natasha Kenworthy LSSM dip. MIRSM

Our Sports/Remedial massage therapist, who trained with the London School of Sports Massage in 2003-2004 and is a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage.

Natasha tailors the massage therapy to the specific needs of the client, utilising her different massage techniques and if appropriate incorporating a postural assessment and also giving advice regarding excercises and stretching to complement her massage.

There is a close liaison between massage therapist and both Doctors of Chiropractic, Jonathan Melhuish & Kermin Lawyer, regarding the patient’s treatment regimes and their progress,as massage may be prescribed by the chiropractor. However she may also be consulted directly.

Some benefits of massage are breaking down of muscle tightness, increasing blood flow and waste product elimination, improving flexibility and reducing aching and stiffness. The massage techniques used complement chiropractic treatment, accelerating the healing process.

Jane, Sheilah, Sue and Linda are our warm and friendly reception staff who aim to keep the clinic running smoothly and will be happy to assist you with any matters that may arise.
