| About Us |
THE CLINIC After rigorous examination the clinic has been recognised by the College of Chiropractors in December 2008 with the award of the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM). The PPQM award was launched in 2006 by the College of Chiropractors to recognise excellence in meeting the expectations patients have about their chiropractic care. Jonathan Melhuish says We have an excellent reputation around the New Forest, Christchurch and Bournemouth areas and a strong patient following. Most of our new customers come by direct recommendation from their friends or relatives. You do not need to be referred by your doctor to make an appointment. OUR GOALS To provide the highest quality service and standards of care for the patients attending this clinic. WHO ARE THE STAFF? Jonathan Melhuish, Doctor of Chiropractic. DC BSc. MCC (Orth) Certified Extremity Practitioner. Graduated from The AECC in Bournemouth 1991 and has worked at the New Milton Chiropractic Clinic for the past 17 years where he has mainly used the highly respected Gonstead technique. A recent trip to Australia enabled him to master a chiropractic technique called Advanced BioStructural Correction (ABC), which systematically treats the spine. He also uses soft tissue techniques such as massage and stretching and dry needling using acupuncture needles to complement his chiropractic treatment.
Kermin Lawyer, Doctor of Chiropractic. DC. MSc. BSc. Trained at the AECC in Bournemouth, graduating in 2003 and has since been practicing in the local area dividing her time between New Milton and Poole. Her chiropractic skills encompass a number of options -
Karen Shutler LSSM dip. MIRSM Karen tailors her massage therapy to the specific needs of the client, utilising different massage techniques and if appropriate incorporating a postural assessment and also giving advice regarding excercises and stretching to complement the massage. A close liaison is maintained between Karen and both chiropractors, Jonathan & Kermin, to ensure patient’s treatment and progress goes to plan as massage may be a prescribed part of chiropractic management. However she may also be consulted directly. Some benefits of massage are breaking down of muscle tightness, increasing blood flow and waste product elimination, improving flexibility and reducing aching and stiffness. The massage techniques used complement chiropractic treatment, accelerating the healing process.
Jane, Sheilah, Sue and Linda are our warm and friendly reception staff who aim to keep the clinic running smoothly and will be happy to assist you with any matters that may arise.
